When you log sailing activities manually or sync them from connected devices, we collect and store: • Activity type (sailing, sail race, boating, etc.) • Date, start time, and duration • Distance and speed metrics (average and maximum) • Heart rate data (when available) • GPS route data (when available) • Activity notes and descriptions This data is used to build your sailor profile, calculate statistics, and display your activity history.

If you choose to connect your Garmin account with SailRaceManager: • We use the Garmin Connect API to receive your sailing activities automatically. • We store an access token to maintain the connection — we never store your Garmin password. • We only receive activities related to water sports (sailing, sail race, boating). • You can disconnect your Garmin connection at any time from your profile settings. • When you disconnect, we delete your Garmin access tokens. Previously synced activities remain on your profile unless you manually delete them.

We use your information to: • Provide and improve the SailRaceManager platform. • Display race results and standings. • Build your public sailor profile with activity statistics. • Calculate leaderboards and performance metrics. • Enable team registration and event sign-up. • Send notifications about races and results (when enabled). • Generate aggregated, anonymized statistics about platform usage.

We disclose your personal information in the following cases: • Public Profiles: Your name, sailing club, race results, and activity statistics are visible to other users on your public sailor profile. • Event Managers: Race organizers can see participant contact information (email, phone) for events you are registered in. • Social Media: When you share activities or results on social media, the information you choose to include is shared. • Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights. We never sell your personal data to third parties.

SailRaceManager includes social features similar to platforms like Strava: • Your sailor profile (name, sailing club, boats, results, activities) is publicly accessible. • Other users can give kudos to your achievements. • You can share activities and results on Facebook, X (Twitter), and other platforms. • Shared links generate previews with your name, activity statistics, and event information. If you wish to limit the visibility of your data, please contact us.

We use cookies to: • Maintain your login session. • Remember your language preferences. • Collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the platform. We do not use cookies for advertising purposes.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including: • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS). • Secure storage of access tokens and credentials. • Regular security reviews of our systems. • Role-based access control. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your data to the best of our ability.

We retain your data as long as your account is active. Race results and team data are retained indefinitely as part of the historical event record. Activity data can be deleted individually from your profile. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us.

Under applicable data protection legislation (including GDPR), you have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you. • Correct inaccurate information. • Delete your personal data (with certain exceptions for historical race results). • Export your data in a machine-readable format. • Withdraw your consent to data processing. • Disconnect third-party services (e.g., Garmin) at any time. SailRaceManager may integrate with third-party services: • Garmin Connect: For syncing sailing activities from Garmin devices. • Manus OAuth: For secure user authentication. • Social Media Platforms: For sharing results and activities. SailRaceManager is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
